The Spring Equinox: Aries Season
The Spring Equinox (the Sun’s Aries ingress) occurs on March 19th at 11:49 PM EDT.
A time of new life and fire that is (for the moment) purely instinctive. The hours of daylight and darkness are equal, so we are made aware of any current balances/imbalances as we look ahead to days of increasing light. If something is out of balance, it can be corrected with the application of action and forward movement. Now is not the time to linger on what was.
This year’s Equinox is loaded due to the Coronavirus. What might this Aries ingress bring in that context? I don’t know! I’m not going to make predictions about the virus because mundane astrology is not my speciality. But I do see this as an important turning point – it will accelerate things, but it will also bring new reasons to feel alive. Aries ives for a challenge, and these are challenging times. The energy of the crisis is what makes Aries feel vital – apply that in whatever way feels right to your situation.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and is ruled by Mars, planet of action, anger, passion. This will be a moment when things surge ahead, for better or worse. And I think that’s better than stagnation – we certainly don’t want to remain stuck. I find it encouraging that we are at a starting point (Aries) rather than an end.
I wrote a more detailed post about why the astrology of this Equinox is so intense in my March 4th Patreon post (nothing about the Coronavirus in that post) entitled “A Potent Time.”
Here are the aspects the Aries Sun will make:
Mar 24th: New Moon (4 deg Aries)
Apr 7th: Full Moon (18 deg Libra)
