Intuitive Astrology: Mercury Retrograde June-July 2020

Mercury goes retrograde in the sign of Cancer from June 17 to July 12, 2020, giving us a total of five planets in retrograde.

This strong retrograde energy also greets us as we walk the Eclipse Gateway, which is the sacred and profoundly transformative time between Eclipses.

Collectively, this combination of retrograde and Eclipse energy will stir up some uncertainty and some deeper questioning about the direction of our lives.

Past wounds may also rise up in order to be cleansed. We may even intuitively feel that our past, or even past lives, hold a clue as to where we are heading.

Under all of this energy, Mercury moving retrograde in the sign of Cancer heightens our sensitivity and brings increased power to the words we speak and the thoughts we think.

Our thoughts and the words we send out into the world all carry a vibration. This vibration helps to color and paint the lens in which we view the world.

With Mercury retrograde in Cancer, we are going to be able to see and feel the power of the words we speak and the thoughts we think more clearly.

We are going to be able to see how our thoughts and words impact the way we see the world.

Take a moment to think about the words you have spoken today and the thoughts that have been running through your mind.

Take a moment to assess what type of world you are creating through what you think and share. Is this the type of world that you want to be a part of?

Every thought you think, every word you speak, and every action you take, plays a part in the world that we live in. These things affect us the most but they also create a ripple that is felt across the entire world.

Part of our responsibility as humans of this planet, is to be mindful of what we are consciously and subconsciously creating through our thoughts and words.

Think of your thoughts and words as paintbrushes that are adding to the artwork of Mother Earth and our collective reality.

Mercury traveling through the underworld of Cancer also means we will be able to feel the vibration, emotion, and true intention behind the words that are shared with us with greater sensitivity.

While we may find ourselves getting easily upset when someone says something harsh to us, we will also find ourselves feeling easily healed and soothed when someone says something kind to us. This energy works both ways.

The words we share always matter, but especially during this Mercury Retrograde in Cancer, we want to be aware that they carry extra power.

This is a wonderful time to reach out to those that are struggling and those that need some extra love – yourself included, and share some beautiful words of encouragement and compassion.

Know that the words you speak and the vibrations you send have the power to deeply heal and comfort, not just your loved ones but all people across the world.

If you do find yourself in a heated conversation during this Mercury Retrograde, recognize that while harsh words can be painful, they can also be a guide too.

Use what is shared with you at this time to set boundaries or reconsider your relationship. Use this information to make the best decision for you.

Mercury retrograde is classically not a good time to make big decisions for usually, there is more information revealed to us after Mercury begins moving direct again.

However, with all of the Eclipses and the changing energy in the air, it may be hard to avoid having to make some decisions during this time period.

This is really a time of going with the flow and trusting the decisions you do end up making, even if they may change or shift later.

Eclipses always put us on the right path, so watch and see what opens up. Take your time in making decisions and use this retrograde energy to set intentions for what you wish to attract.

Remember, words and thoughts have more power here, which means you can also use them to set goals and manifest your desires into creation.

Use this retrograde period to think about what you wish to create. Know your words and thoughts are powerful tools of creation so use them to your advantage!

Mercury Retrograde Mantras

With the power of our words and thoughts being heightened at this time, it is a great opportunity to practice reciting mantras for a few minutes each day. Here’s how:

Choose one of the mantras below and chant it on repeat either aloud or in your mind.
As you chant the mantra, start very slowly. Say each word with deliberate meaning.
As you get the rhythm, begin speeding it up.
Slow it back down again before coming to a stop.
Repeat this process daily throughout the mercury retrograde cycle- feel free to change up the mantras daily.
